Joondalup Library hosts a touring exhibition with Mila-Wall ®

The Lester Prize is Western Australia’s annual prestigious portrait art prize event held at the AGWA, and like all major exhibitions, they go on tour. The first stop was the Joondalup Library in Perth. For most, hosting a pop-up exhibition sees challenges of space, particularly wall space, that’s where Mila-Wall® brings solutions.

From 6th Feb – 11th March, 2023 Joondalup Library showcased its first pop-up exhibition using Mila-Wall® for The Lester Prize highlights exhibition. They used twenty 2.5 metre high Mila-Wall® to carve out a separate exhibition space in their library, allowing visitors a more intimate exhibition viewing experience.

Transforming a public space means you can’t afford any downtime. Joondalup Library was able to install Mila-Wall® after hours, ensuring no impact was made on the daily functions of the library. So in essence, setting up the walls, and hanging the works took less than a day. The lightweight modular construction technology of  Mila-wall®  made the short setup time possible. On disassembling the exhibition, Mila-Wall® neatly packs away into one crate, making it easy to pack away in storage until the next pop-up exhibition.

Previously Joondalup Library only ever used existing wall space for their exhibitions, and the ease of installation and success of creating a distinct exhibition space means the library has already scheduled 3 more exhibition events coming up in 2023.
